Case study:  Automotive Litigation

DGS defended an automobile manufacturer in a wrongful death suit based on an alleged product defect leading to a failure of the airbag to deploy.   In a highway accident, the vehicle had gone off the road after the unrestrained driver fell asleep at the wheel.  Working with automotive experts, DGS attorneys showed that there was no product defect causing the airbag nondeployment.  Instead, although the car was traveling at highway speeds, the accident 's impact forces were insufficient and not in the right direction to trigger airbag deployment.  DGS attorneys negotiated a favorable settlement of the litigation.
