Case Study: Proposed Annexation

A city proposed the annexation of a portion of our client’s producing gas field. The annexation was proposed in conjunction with the development of a housing subdivision and related businesses. With our combined expertise in real estate and oil and gas law, we represented our client before the planning commission, city council and the board of county commissioners to protect the client’s existing production and preserve rights for future development. We provided comments on the city’s proposed oil and gas regulations and negotiated a joint development agreement with the real estate developer.
