Al Givray joined DGS in 2008 and specializes in the following areas:

  • Programs and strategic alliances to develop, certify, manufacture, market, sell, and distribute new aircraft products and technology-based solutions
  • Aircraft finance, aircraft leasing, related regulation, and the manufacture, purchase, lease,operation, maintenance, marketing, and sale of aviation products
  • Strategic acquisitions/divestitures of businesses to obtain/sell aircraft assets, software, and other intellectual property, and associated licensing arrangements
  • Aircraft private-ownership operations under 14 CFR Part 91 and air-taxi operations under 14 CFR Part 135
  • Commercial finance involving technology, software, proprietary data, patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other forms of intellectual property as collateral
  • Intellectual property agreements between US and foreign companies for ownership, licensing, use restrictions, and royalties on patented and unpatented technologies, software, and technical information

Prior to joining DGS he was a partner with Jacobs Chase Frick Kleinkopf & Kelley. He was also formerly a partner at Stuart Biolchini Turner & Givray, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he managed the US and cross-border transactional work for the firm’s clients in aviation, commercial finance, technology ventures, business-to-business media, electric power projects, gas gathering systems, oil & gas assets, consumer electronics, manufacturing,and product distribution. Al has been listed for several years in The Best Lawyers in America.

  • The purchaser in the acquisition of an EU-based airline conducting cargo operations and unscheduled passenger flights. The transaction involved unusually complex legal, tax, investment, financial, operational, regulatory, litigation, and due-diligence issues across 9 countries in 4 continents.
  • Invidi Technologies Corporation in numerous technology transfer transactions and its intellectual property protection program. Invidi is a leading provider of targeted advertising software systems for the cable and satellite television industry and its investors include Menlo Ventures, InterWest Partners, EnerTech Capital and Westbury Partners.
  • The NORDAM Group in various technology transfers, joint ventures and alliances, including cross border transactions to develop, certify, manufacture, market, sell and distribute new aircraft products and technology-based solutions. The NORDAM Group is a leader in the manufacture, repair and overhaul of aircraft components, with facilities on three continents serving more than 150 commercial carriers and OEMs for commercial, regional, corporate and general aircraft.
  • TRICON Geophysics, Inc. in various strategic alliances to develop software and other intellectual property, and in the associated patenting and licensing activities. TRICON is a leader in seismic processing services for the oil and gas industry and has offices in the United States, Canada, Venezuela and Colombia.
