Paul Means is Special Counsel in the firm’s Real Estate practice and Renewable Energy groups. He has extensive experience in all areas of real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, construction and joint ventures. Mr. Means practiced real estate law for six years in the San Francisco area with the law firms of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Miller, Starr & Regalia. Since joining Davis Graham & Stubbs in 2006, Mr. Means has continued to represent companies in traditional real estate transactions, while expanding his practice to include representation of renewable energy companies engaged in Colorado’s emerging renewable energy sector. In addition, he is involved in Denver’s green construction wave, speaking frequently on legal issues related to leasing in LEED-certified and other green buildings. Mr. Means also devotes time to conservation and historic preservation issues.

Mr. Means is an active member of the Downtown Denver Partnership, the Land Trust Alliance and the Colorado Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
While studying law at the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, he was a member of the California Law Review. Mr. Means also holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is an ardent Tar Heels fan.
Mr. Means lives in the City of Denver with his wife and three children. Mr. Means is a Master Composter with the City of Denver and gives occasional workshops on the topic.
