Tom Johnson’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and defense of white collar crime matters. He has handled lawsuits, including class actions, involving proxy contests and corporate take-overs, banking matters involving lender liability, foreclosures and complex collections, franchise disputes, defense and prosecution of securities fraud claims, natural resources cases involving take-or-pay commitments, pricing disputes, preemptive rights and a variety of contract disputes, real estate and leasing matters commonly involving allegations of fraud and misrepresentation, bankruptcy litigation, employment-related disputes, health care industry matters, distributorship terminations, unfair trade practices cases including false advertising and theft of trade secret claims, and white collar crime defense. Mr. Johnson has extensive jury trial experience and has argued numerous matters before state and federal appellate courts.Prior to joining the firm in 1988, Mr. Johnson supervised all litigation for the Denver office of a major Chicago law firm, and served as the managing partner of that office for twenty months. Mr. Johnson’s practice experience includes seven years’ service as an Assistant United States Attorney in Chicago, Illinois.Mr. Johnson is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. Mr. Johnson is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® and was named one of "Denver’s Top Lawyers" in 5280 Magazine. He has also been named as a 2006 Colorado Super Lawyer by Law & Politics magazine. In 2004 he was appointed to the Denver Police Foundation’s Board of Directors.
