The DGS Law Student Internship

At DGS, we offer law students the unique opportunity to learn about the practice of law by being immersed in our clients’ cases, transactions and matters.  We believe that the best way to decide upon your career course is through a real-life and up-close view of what it means to be a lawyer.  Whether you’re interested in a career as a trial lawyer, a corporate lawyer, or a natural resources lawyer, at DGS you will be exposed to the day-to-day activities of a law practice by working closely with our lawyers on real matters for our clients. 

DGS seeks law students who are genuinely committed to Denver as the place where they want to live and practice law.  We look for students who have a defined sense of career direction that fits with our focus and expertise, and who have a clear and mature perspective on why they want to pursue a career with a firm such as ours.  Additionally, it is important to us that a candidate’s experience shows demonstrated excellence in academic pursuits, intellectual curiosity, a strong work ethic, a willingness to work in teams, a commitment to diversity and to our community. 

Law students who intern with DGS may be considered for an associate position, depending on the needs of the firm and whether they demonstrate over the course of their internship the excellent potential for a successful career with DGS.
