Kelly Brooks is a staff attorney at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP where her practice focuses on transactions affecting all aspects of the upstream oil and gas industry. Ms. Brooks has 18 years of legal experience, both in-house and as outside counsel working in most of the major oil and gas basins in the U.S. Lower 48, onshore and offshore. Prior to joining DGS, she served as associate general counsel at Hess Corporation, senior counsel at ConocoPhillips and senior attorney at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, all in Houston, Texas.
Ms. Brooks’ diverse oil and gas experience includes assisting clients in the acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas assets, due diligence, drafting and negotiation of agreements for joint exploration and development, well participation, farmouts, acreage trades, joint operating agreements, pooling and unitization, geophysical exploration, natural gas processing and gathering, surface use agreements, easements, purchasing and materials procurement and title examination. In addition, she has counseled clients on compliance with laws and regulations of federal, state, and local governments concerning oil and gas exploration, development, and production.
From 2006 to 2009, Ms. Brooks chaired the exploration and production law committee of the Texas Oil & Gas Association and also served on the American Petroleum Institute’s subcommittee on exploration and production law from 2013 to 2015.
Ms. Brooks has been Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2003.
