Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP is pleased to announce that Brian Annes has rejoined the firm as of counsel in the Energy & Mining Group. Mr. Annes is admitted to practice law in Colorado and Wyoming. His practice will continue to have an emphasis on upstream and midstream transactional matters in the oil and gas industry.
Prior to rejoining DGS, Mr. Annes served as counsel for a Denver-based Quantum Energy Partners portfolio company. He engaged in the acquisition, development, and exploration of oil and gas assets, with a particular focus on heavy oil development in California. Mr. Annes’ experience includes navigating complex transactions and negotiating various agreements and deal structures. He also provided strategic advice and legal support to internal teams and ensured compliance with regulatory requirements. Before this role, Mr. Annes was an associate in the DGS Natural Resources Department, focusing on oil and gas transactions and production royalties.
Mr. Annes received his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he graduated with honors, served as editor-in-chief of Volume 15 of the Wyoming Law Review, and concurrently received his M.A. in Environment and Natural Resources. Mr. Annes received his B.S. in Systems and Information Engineering, graduating with distinction, from the University of Virginia.
