WILLS: Perspectives on Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act

Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act took effect on January 1, 2021. Conceived as a measure to ensure greater pay transparency and to address gender-based pay inequities, the Act has taken on additional meaning in the “Great Resignation,” when women are dropping out of the workforce at higher rates than men. The goal of attracting, empowering, and retaining female talent is facing fresh challenges. Greater pay transparency on job postings has been a way for employers to attract diverse talent, as well as a tool for employees to use to negotiate higher pay and other benefits.

This program will feature different perspectives on how Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act has leveled the playing field for working women in the state.
