Michael Harrison, Alex Paalborg, and Kellen Wittkop Join DGS

Michael Harrison and Kellen Wittkop have joined the Trial Department and Alex Paalborg has joined the Finance & Acquisitions Department of Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP.

Michael Harrison

Mr. Harrison’s practice focuses on general commercial litigation. Prior to joining DGS, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable M. Page Kelley of the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts and the Honorable Raymond P. Moore of the U.S. District Court, District of Colorado. As a law clerk, Mr. Harrison worked on a wide array of civil and criminal matters, which included discovery disputes, dispositive motions, and trials.

Mr. Harrison earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School. While in law school, he completed a six-month, full-time externship at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts in the Major Crimes Unit of the Criminal Division. As an extern, Mr. Harrison assisted with several trials and drafted motions. In addition to his externship, he also participated in Boston College Law School’s Civil Litigation clinic, wherein he represented indigent clients through negotiations, motion practice, and oral advocacy. Mr. Harrison graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S., magna cum laude, in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in Colorado, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Alex Paalborg
Mr. Paalborg advises clients on data privacy and security, technology, intellectual property, commercial transactions, and corporate law matters. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and helps clients achieve and maintain compliance with federal, state, and international data privacy and security laws, such as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CAN-SPAM Act, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the FTC Act, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Mr. Paalborg also frequently drafts and negotiates a variety of intellectual property and technology agreements, including in-bound and out-bound licensing agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS), consulting, and other services agreements, end user license agreements (EULAs), terms of use, and distribution agreements.

Prior to joining DGS, Mr. Paalborg advised technology entrepreneurs and start-ups at a boutique, full-service technology law firm in Austin, Texas. He began his career in the public sector, working on legislative, policy, and enforcement issues involving technology and consumer protection. He earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law. During law school, Mr. Paalborg externed for the Honorable Ignazio Ruvolo of the California Court of Appeals, First Appellate District and the Honorable Laura Taylor, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of California. He graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona with a B.A.

Mr. Paalborg is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations and is admitted to practice in Colorado, California, and the District of Columbia. He is actively involved in pro bono work and local politics. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and serves as the mentorship co-chair of the New Leaders Council, Colorado chapter.

Kellen Wittkop

Ms. Wittkop’s practice focuses on general litigation and trial matters, including complex commercial litigation and business disputes. She has experience with class actions, breach of contract, insurance indemnification, trade secret, and franchise matters. Prior to joining DGS, Ms. Wittkop was an associate at an international law firm's Denver office, where she focused on business litigation.

Born and raised in Colorado, Ms. Wittkop graduated summa cum laude from Colorado State University with degrees in Economics and English. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was president and editor-in-chief of the Harvard Journal on Legislation. She also gained experience during law school as a law clerk with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Vaccine Litigation. Ms. Wittkop is committed to community service and maintains an active pro bono practice. During law school, she served as co-chair of the Harvard Law Tenant Advocacy Project, worked as a clinical student with the Harvard Law School Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation, and completed over 1,000 hours of pro bono service through the Harvard Office of Clinical and Pro Bono Programs. Ms. Wittkop is also a member of the Colorado Lawyers Committee Children’s Task Force and a volunteer with the Colorado Bar Association High School Mock Trial Program.

Ms. Wittkop is an active member of the American, Colorado, and Denver Bar Associations, as well as the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in Colorado and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
