June 22, 2018

DENVER – June 22, 2018 – Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP partner Miko Brown was named a finalist for the Chambers Women in Law Awards. Ms. Brown has been recognized in the category “Minority Female Lawyer of the Year.”

The awards, now in their seventh year, reflect outstanding contributions to furthering the advancement of women in law through gender diversity, inclusion, promotion programs, and mentoring. The awards seek to recognize the achievements of nominees, empower the people behind innovative women’s initiatives, and give greater visibility to gender diversity.

"Miko is an exceptional lawyer and an extraordinary champion for women in the legal profession,” said Kristin Lentz, co-managing partner of DGS. “In addition to excelling in her practice of law, she is a role model and inspiration to many in the Denver legal community and here at DGS.”

Ms. Brown focuses her national litigation practice on defending large companies in catastrophic personal injury and commercial cases. Her experience includes products liability, medical malpractice, civil rights, premises liability, and construction matters. In commercial litigation, she has defended numerous actions alleging misrepresentation and violation of consumer protection laws and has successfully defended breach of contract and intellectual property infringement cases. Additionally, Ms. Brown’s employment experience includes matters alleging race, gender, disability, and age discrimination, as well as sexual harassment and whistleblower actions.

Ms. Brown launched the Women in Leadership Lecture Series (WILLS) in 2013. For each event, Ms. Brown and the planning committee invite clients and business colleagues to serve as panelists and share their experiences with a diverse audience of lawyers, business leaders, and law students. The series breaks down institutional silos and empowers women to start asking for what they want and deserve. Ms. Brown and WILLS have helped countless female and minority attorneys navigate soft barriers and begin a constructive dialogue about reformation, taking risks, and not leading from a place of fear. Ms. Brown helps women and minority lawyers connect through WILLS to viable business prospects, grow their professional networks, develop mentor/mentee relationships, and build their client rosters.
