Ashley Garber Browner is of counsel in the Energy and Mining Group at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP. Her practice has an emphasis on assisting companies in the energy sector with a broad range of transactional and corporate matters involving mergers and acquisitions, project development, capital markets, drafting and negotiating complex services agreements, and land use and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Browner is a commercial and technical leader with over 15 years of public and private company in-house and private practice experience. Prior to joining DGS, Ms. Browner was General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary of Bowline Energy, LLC (acquired by Kraken Resources). She was previously General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Nine Point Energy Holdings, Inc., the successor entity to Triangle USA Petroleum Corporation – where she led the company in numerous major asset acquisitions and the formation of multiple energy services and midstream company joint ventures. Ms. Browner joined Triangle Petroleum Corp. and its related entities in 2012 as Associate Counsel, holding positions of increasing responsibility in the legal department until being named General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in 2014. Additionally, she served as legal lead for two successful Delaware Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and one out-of-court restructuring process.
Ms. Browner began her legal career at a national law firm based in Washington, DC, where she advised clients on oil, natural gas, electric, renewable energy, and environmental topics, focusing on project development and FERC regulatory matters. She later joined a large publicly traded energy enterprise as Assistant General Counsel, where she managed a variety of transactional and regulatory legal matters for the west region business unit.
She received her B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University and her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. During law school, Ms. Browner was the executive editor of the Houston Journal of International Law and served on the Dean’s Advisory Committee.
